Paul Robert Manley

Paul Robert Manley
TYBEE ISLAND - Paul Robert Manley, born on February 2, 1963 to Arloween Peters and Robert Manley, in Olympia, Washington, passed away on November 28th at his home on Tybee Island, Georgia.
He was a graduate of Capital High School and Washington State University where he received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Paul pursued a career in aeronautical engineering at Boeing, Dee Howard, Piper and most recently, Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah.
Paul loved being near and on the water in boats large and small. Over several years, Paul and Julie refurbished a 46' sailboat which they christened Moonstruck. They went on to have many fun and memorable adventures, a highlight being a two year sailing trip throughout the Bahamas and Caribbean.
Finally settling on Tybee Island, Georgia, Paul helped design and build their home where he loved all aspects of being part of the small island community and mere steps to the beach. Paul loved animals, particularly Springer Spaniel Rusty, many guinea pigs and his devoted companion, Chewy the cat.
Paul is survived by his wife, Julie Williams Manley, his mother Arloween Manley of Olympia WA, sisters Sue Mecham Randy of Seattle, WA and Judy Patten Bill of Vancouver, WA, nieces Sophie and Natalie Mecham, Hayley Cox and nephew Cory Cox; father and mother-in-law Jack and Claudia Williams of Bluffton, SC, sister-in-law JoLane Buss and her children, Connor and McKenzie Buss of Beaufort, South Carolina. He was predeceased by his father Robert Manley.
A Celebration of Paul's Life will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2012, from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Manley home on Tybee Island.
In Paul's memory, memorials may be sent to the Islands Feral Cat Project, 28 Twelve Oaks Drive, Savannah, 31410 in Paul's memory.

Paul, a great friend who will be sorely missed! I will miss his Friday afternoon phone calls, He always made me laugh. I have fond memories of cruising around Tybee Island on his Boston Whaler, I especially remember when dolphins approached his boat and he was able to pet them, Paul loved animals and they obviously loved him too. We had a lot of fun; Paul’s sense of humor was unmatched. I really appreciated his west coast attitude. Paul was extremely smart and talented; he could do anything. It is often said the brightest burn out early I believe this was the case with Paul. Our thoughts and prayers’ are with his family and Julie. Shane Aldrich and Family
